vam•pire n. a reanimated corpse that lives off of human blood.

VAMPIRES, they've been around for centuries, living off the blood
of others. in the beginning their numbers were so few, they were
viewed as a myth, but over the centuries things changed...
"we're not sure where it started but it's gotten out of hand."
- V.A.M.P.S HEAD DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT

when the government realized the spread of vampirism was in a
steady and constant incline, they decided to do something about
it. round them up, monitor their behavior and feed them only as
much as necessary. and so V.A.M.P.S. was created and all the
vampires were moved to sector seven, known as NECROPOLIS.
"it's not racism! they aren't human, they're monsters."
- ANNONYMOUS CIVILIAN COMMENT

legally they were still citizens and sympathizers pushed for laws
that would make the punishment for killing a vampire equal to
that of killing a human. but hate crimes were still committed on
an almost daily basis. the vampires would fight back in self
defense and in the end were the ones who were punished.
"the idea of co-existing will eventually become survival of the fittest."
- VAMPIRE SPECIALIST AND STANFORD PROFESSOR
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
the formation of V.A.M.P.S and necropolis led to many things,
not the least of which was dissension. lawmakers and vampire
sympathizers battled it out until the necropolis wall was torn
down, but there is still animosity between much of the now
merged cities. and just because the physical barrier is gone
doesn't mean there isn't one still standing in society's mind.
