RISE OF THE TRUE SITH
After seven years, what does one do for an encore at the Jedi Praxeum? Simple, something audacious, adventurous and legendary. Therefore, we have decided to delve into the mythos and legend of the Knight’s of the Old Republic, and the upcoming Bioware release, The Old Republic, weaving in the cast of cast of characters we have developed over the years.
It begins 5300 years ago on Dromund Kaas, in the lair of the Sith Emperor, the mysterious leader of the True Sith.
---- Revan casually tossed away his Lightsaber with a loud clatter, sensing through the Force that his weapon would be useless against the Emperor in the heart of his holy Sanctum. Facing the silent, red-skinned Sith, he leaned forward with considerable effort, as if facing a great wind blowing forth. The two titans began their initial assault on the invisible plane which was the very tapestry of life itself; the Force.
Seconds seemed like hours, and the relentless hammering of the Dark Council on the enormous ancient chapel door faded into eerie silence, yet unnoticed were the sacrificial avians along the wall that floated away in an impossibly fine dust. As the battle grew more intense, in secret, with her route known only to herself, lest the Emperor read Revan's mind, the Jedi Exile crept along the margins of the dark and holy place, her every thought focused on two things; staying above the tide of force energies roaring noiselessly around the room and, inching ever closer to her target.
Revan had understood his monumental task even before he chose to confront the Emperor in one final confrontation. Though the Emperor was always the stronger of the two, he was also the more arrogant. He knew Revan, and with this knowledge, he knew Revan and his blood would always pose a threat to his reign. He knew this the very first time they crossed paths, long ago, when he corrupted two youthful Jedi Knights.
Since that fateful day, the Emperor had tracked his movements every second of his life and, in his mind, had planned the perfect trap: a force duel to the death, which the Emperor would be victorious under any circumstance, so as long as the battle was waged in his most powerful force Nexus. Here, in the midst of his dark rituals, his power was incomparable, and his will absolute. However, the Emperor's confidence in his plan had blinded him to role of Revan's companion: a hole in the force and an unknown quantity to his ancient mind.
That is what Revan had counted on. It was to be his only hope and last hope.
Standing brave and bold, he could not deter the purebloods power in the Force. His heart burst within his chest and every bone in his body shattered under the Emperor's might. Lying prostrate and near death, the force storm began to abate as quickly as it coalesced. The Emperor approached with caution, his orange tinged eyes boring into his greatest foe.
"And now your blood shall mingle with that of my own", he taunted, "and through the union of soul and flesh I will become immortal! It was inevitable Revan. It was your destiny. One you failed to see long ago."
In that moment of triumph, his guard down, the Jedi Exile struck with lethal efficiency - leaping out from behind the Emperor and impaling him through his dark heart with her Lightsaber. The storm around them began to fade, and sound returned to the bloody scene of Imperacide.
Revan dying, spoke his last words. "You will never possess me, or those of my blood. Die with the knowledge that I have bested you, the last of the True Sith. Power and glory is yours my Emperor, but victory is mine this day."
With those words Revan faded into the Netherworld, as the Emperor’s body collapsed in on himself, his very essence becoming shadow, until it exploded in a bright blue storm of pure energy. The ancient doors of the Nexus burst open, as members of the Dark council began to pour in, wide arcs of lightning and battle cries preceding their charge. The Jedi Exile accepted her fate willingly, kneeling by the body of her fallen mentor. Tears of regret, mingled with joy of their impossible victory, began to flow down her wrinkled and aged face. Their lives were worth the price, and her lids fluttered shut as the red blade severed her head.
They had won. They had sacrificed their lives in Crusade. The Sith Emperor was dead.[/i]
As we know, he is not dead, and three-centuries later, he launches his planned invasion on the Republic. He possesses the bodies of minion and slaves, existing anyway that he can. Some say he does not exist, other’s wonder if he ever did. As the war becomes a stalemate, and his efforts at corrupting the last descendant of Revan and Bastila Shan fails, he retreats into shadow, looking for the secret that will make his flesh permanent once more, and give him the very secret of Immortality.
And so our story begins, five-thousand years. Odon Baas is Grandmaster of the Jedi Order on Typhon, and his daughter Nashira is the greatest of the Jedi. Yet they have a family secret, one unbeknownst to even themselves. Satele Shan, the Grandmaster who fought valiantly against the True Sith and their mysterious Emperor three-hundred years after Revan’s death, bore a child. She knew, as did the Emperor that they would never relent in pursuit of her bloodline. The Emperor would destroy or corrupt the only being ever to harm his sacred body.
Faking her death, near the end of the war, she changed the name of her child to Baas; the name of a famed Jedi Master of the Exar Kun wars, a Krevaki named Vodo Siosk-Baas. And thus the child was hidden, but the gift of Revan's power would survive through the ages, and now, millennia later, manifesting in the body of the daughter of Odon Baas. As her power grows, the Sith Emperor, adrift and dormant, stirs from his slumber on the hidden world of Roon, where he has rebuilt his Empire in secret, waiting for the vergence that would begin his last quest.
If he could turn the prideful Knight, and inhabit the body of a child from a forced union between Nashira Baas, Revan's blood, and the last Skywalker, Caine, then could finally be immortal, becoming a God Emperor of the known universe, destroying the lightside itself, and finally setting the galaxy upon his Dark Path.
So as you see, we have created quite the adventure, and now it is up to you to choose your side. Darkness? Light? Neutral? Whatever road you walk, it will be one filled with danger and uncertainty. Come and join us on the Jedi Praxeum, and our new storyline.
