H I S T O R Y from the beginning they knew that the restless babe they tried holding in their arms would be wild. though she was a quite docile child, it was evident that she was ready to break free, to go her own direction, to run as if she was taught nothing of being a proper lady. her parents had been quite known in their time when they hailed in iliendon before carthonia destroyed what was their home. even though naiya was merely a tot they tried to teach her the difference between wrong and right, how to be a civil lady, how to be kind to her elders, and how to respect her deity.
of course the home little naiya knew of iliendon was destroyed by carthonia and her parents abandoned what they had known and headed for the east. this was better suited for them from the beginning, they knew. naiya's father was able to teach her the proper use of her plant manipulation, which he knew all about. she grew up spending time with her father and learning his gift, which she shared with him. although her mother got quite upset with the father's interference of her trying to teach the daughter how to be a proper lady when all he wanted to do was teach her to manipulate the nature they both loved.
up until the day naiya's seventeenth year, her mother thought she had failed in teaching her daughter. but she hadn't. naiya decided to go to one of those well known events where men tried to court a nice looking young lady of status, like herself. this was naiya's first event, and she was quite bewildered and nervous. the whole night she stood by the wall, which had become her dance partner, until an attractive man with wild green eyes introduced himself. he was kind to her to start off, well into conversation, and an excellent dancer. she impressed him with witty conversation, and he impressed her with his ability to be just as witty as she.
naiya laughed and smiled more than she ever thought she would in her lifetime. slowly, despite their parents trying to keep them apart, they spent much more time together than they should have. suffice to say, they fell in love; though against the preferred way of many of their people. they were happy together, and spending time together only made that more acknowledgment. it was difficult to say that they weren't a perfect pairing.
just a few days after her eighteenth year, an offer of engagement was place for naiya. of course her family and she were willing to take the offer. it was a quick marriage, only a few months after the engagement. many were questioning their hurry up until the day they found out that she was baring a child. for her betrothed had planted his seed in her and she was on the verge of popping, so to speak. at the time it was something that was frowned upon, but it would still happen otherwise.
five months after their wedding they had their first and only child together. a beautiful baby boy, who held the same traits as naiya had when she was a babe. of course naiya had a much different relationship with this young child, she was hoping to build a relationship with her baby that her father had created with her. a bond in which they had common grounds.
things change, though, and not always for the better.
it is amazing how much having a child can change a woman, especially one as free-spirited as naiya. though she was still that same free-spirited girl she had a mother's instinct... and her's told her to keep the child away from his loving father. so that she did. well, this infuriated her lover. so much so that he became quite violent on the both of them; her instincts were right, but they were what caused the situation. he was more-so violent on her when the child was not around. his violence lead him down a very dangerous road.
he wasn't quite the nice water elemental. in fact he was infuriated to the point he lost his mind and his wife in one swift motion. his beloved naiya drowned while bathing because of his twist of the wrist, his dark sodden eyes, and his temperament. as the water engulfed his bride, seeping into her nose and mouth, to her lungs replacing the air she could no longer take in, it became dark. there was no more thoughts, no more heart beat, and no more life as she lay there lifeless by the hands of her beloved.
naiya did not just die and leave completely. when she woke, shockingly enough, she was in serenity isles. she had become the deity of earth, and she brought with her everything she had as a human, only she wasn't technically alive, nor did she have her lover or son. [/blockquote]
