M A G I C ? Telepathy is the only inhereted power she has
Teleportation: Renge’s favored magic because of the variety of uses it has: for spying, moving about quickly, and getting out of dangerous situations to name a few. Renge can teleport up to a few hundred feet in the blink of an eye, able to teleport up to one person along with her as long as they have physical contact. Renge can also choose to teleport objects to a place of her choice, but this still requires concentration. The maximum weight she can teleport, excluding herself, is someone or something weighing the same as herself. She hopes to further develop her teleportation magic to the point where less time is required in order to picture the destination as well as increase the distance and maximum weight of the objects (or people) she can teleport.
Telekinesis: Renge practices her telekinetic abilities mostly because she’s too lazy to stand up and get her things, but it doesn’t mean that she doesn’t use it in battle. Renge generally uses this to deflect and control arrows flying her way but it still takes some of her concentration. If in a battle, Renge has to take a completely defensive stance in order to fight with a weapon and use her telekinesis.
Telepathy: A magic Renge generally uses only when she’s spying, or really curious about something or someone but mostly when she has to spy. Because of the generally passive quality of this magic, Renge relies on this the least and is thus, the weakest of all the magic she has. In order for her to use it, concentrating for this has to be the only thing she is doing.

B U I L D Renge stands tall, with a fairly lean build. Despite her appearance, Renge can easily wield Zweihanders with only one hand, a testament to her strength. While Renge is still generally fast, because she favors wielding weapons, these slow her down but her teleportation more than makes up for this detriment.
E Y E S Her clear, dark gray eyes look endless, deep, and piercing when Renge is serious, which is not very often, and easily convey her seriousness. Most of the time, they betray her cheerfulness, because she usually has alcohol within reach or is already drinking it.
H A I R Renge has dark, chestnut brown hair reaching to the midsection of her back It’s generally kept free and messy, soft and straight until it becomes loose curls towards the end. Otherwise, it’s tied in a loose ponytail, to ensure visibility and ease of movement.
I D E N T I F I E R S Renge has two piercings each on her earlobes and wears two pairs of earrings: one a plain crystal earring and the other a flat silver disk. Spanning the entire distance between her shoulder blades, a tattoo of a pair of devil, bat-like wings is inked. On the space between the wings, a crescent moon is tattooed.
A P P E A R A N C E Generally no-nonsense and due to her profession, Renge tends to wear a black, bustier-like top. The back of her top hides about half of the tattoos on her back. Her pants are tucked inside her mid-shin high leather boots, causing them to puff up. On her hands are black, leather fingerless gloves.
She often stands tall and straight with a seemingly graceful carriage, but can easily change this when on a mission. Despite the amount of alcohol she drinks, Renge hardly looks intoxicated and is probably immune to its effects, but no one knows for sure.
L I K E S alcohol, sweets, gambling, money, various kinds of weaponry, training, sparring, anything caffeinated (yes she drinks things that aren’t alcoholic in nature too), Tsubaki, Haru
D I S L I K E S bitter and/or bland foods, pretentious and extremely arrogant people, anything too loud, extremely hyperactive kids/people, long bouts of sleeping
F E A R S Nightmares because of how psychologically draining they are on her, and because whenever she sleeps for any period much longer than an hour, it’s almost assured that she’ll get a nightmare
S T R E N G T H S Physically strong, variety of related powers which help during missions, extremely professional, good at keeping secrets
W E A K N E S S E S Insomniac, when she’s agitated, she tends to mow down everything (extremely scary when mad) and does not have the best control of her temper
Q U I R K S One of the real reasons why Renge loves alcohol is because it distracts her and forces her to stay up and keeps the nightmares away, something she gets quite often, manages to last a whole day with only a few hours of sleep, usually in bursts of an hour or so in order to keep the nightmares away
G O A L S Find a way to get rid of the eternal nightmares that she and her siblings continue to have
P E R S O N A L I T Y Renge, from the get go, is recklessness and vice personified. She loves drinking and gambles pretty much any time she can afford to do so, going up all the way to the highest stakes when she can. Fortunately for her, luck is generally on her side and is pretty much blacklisted in any gambling establishment, much to her frustration. Still, she does play gambling games every now and then, especially with people who don’t know her lucky streak in gambling. Secretly, she doesn’t admit that she’s just really good at playing these games, at least with games that have some strategy to them.
Renge is a natural procrastinator, much to the disdain of her sister and brother, preferring to do things she likes than actually doing the job. Despite this, she manages to get most of the things that need to be done, well, done. Any training she does is usually in the dead of night, when everyone else is asleep and she continues to try and find ways to keep herself awake, something she’s had much practice in for the past fifteen years.
She is also fairly straightforward and blunt, generally disregarding formalities but still knows her place. While most people find it easily to get along with Renge, she has quite an acerbic and caustic tongue, especially to those who are arrogant. She doesn’t hide the fact that she can kill them quite easily, and sometimes causes conflict with whoever hires her. Still, they generally put up with her personality because of her professionalism and her ability to keep things confidential.

H I S T O R Y Renge’s parents were young when they had their first children, Renge and her twin sister Tsubaki. Her parents had been working in the dojo, and it was only natural that Renge and Tsubaki would as well. About three years after their birth, their mother gave birth to their younger brother, Haru. Because her parents were both telepaths, it was almost assured that the three siblings would come to inherit, use, and develop their telepathic skills as they grew older.
As expected, Renge, Tsubaki, and Haru immersed themselves into the inner workings of the dojo, training and working for the dojo at an age most would consider too young. While Renge and Haru took the path that involved taking missions and strengthening their skills, Tsubaki took more of an administrative role.
While there were many people in the dojo who resented the siblings because of their parents, each strove to prove themselves as more than just their parents’ children, most especially Renge. She relied on their common inherited power the least, establishing herself with unique powers (relative to her family) and managed to shrug off much of the resentment, though not all.
It was during the time that the siblings began to prove themselves that the nightmares started, fifteen years from today. Their parents felt helpless against the pain of the nightmares, though did not outwardly show it. Each of them took to a different way of fighting against the nightmares: Tsubaki through endless reading and work, Haru with women (much to the chagrin of Renge and Tsubaki), and Renge with alcohol and gambling.

S A M P L E . P O S T Most people couldn’t stomach the putrid smell of rotting flesh, the sight of skeletal remains, some cracked and a handful of others just barely still whole. Most people gagged at the thought of doing what she had to do, at whom she had to meet, at what she had to do, and what she would do: kill.
“Take him out, by tonight, no excuses,” he sneered as he shoved a piece of paper towards her. He leaned back comfortably on his chair, jewel-encrusted fingers intertwined. “I paid good money for your services, do not disappoint me.”
“Yes sir,” she drawled, rather deliberately too, as she picked up the paper almost carelessly, too carelessly, glancing at the chicken scratch on it. This is pathetic. He smiled a little, a creepy and almost toothless one, barely lifting his heavy body and waddling awkwardly towards her.
“Now my dear Renge, let’s have fun while we wait for the time to pass,” he breathed, his breath heavy with alcohol. Normally she appreciated the scent, not this time, not from him.
His fat fingers grasped her shoulders and she barely managed to prevent a shudder. And just as he was about to kiss her, Renge’s hand gripped a dagger and slicing his neck cleanly, blood spattering everywhere. She pushed him off, his eyes wide with surprise as he gasped for air.
“Y-youuu…” he sputtered, coughing out blood.
“Who said I was working for you? I was on the way here to kill you when you picked me up and was about to contract me for a job,” Renge said offhandedly. Looking at her dagger, she flicked off most of the excess blood. “I was hired by the man you were going to have me kill.” Her voice was rather wicked. She watched him die, and plucked off the ring with his emblem, proof of the success of her job.
