THE WORLD
Welcome to Ceradonia, a land of magic and war. Below you will find all of the information you need to know regarding this world.
THE NORTH
Element: Ice & Water
The North was once a prosperous, growing land. Before the Great War, North Niendra (previously known as Iliendon) was home to some of the greatest philosophers and richest merchants, most of whom chose to live here due to the library catacombs and the abudant depostis of the rare gemstone Cysil. Before merging the Niendra, the R'leyon family ruled Iliendon with pride.
During the Great War, the once beautiful, rich Iliendon was destroyed by Carthonia. Most of the land still remains in ruin save for two large cities and the former capital. Shrines dedicated to the deity Lilith can be found in each of the three cities- North Niendra takes great pride in knowing that it was once home to one of the two original deities.
The North relies on the seas, waters, and cysil mines for the majority of its income. Some evergreen plants are grown locally with the help of magic, but most of the food is imported due to the land's freezing temperatures.
THE EAST
Element: Earth
The Great Kingdom of Niendra started in the East. It has always been blessed with fair weather and enough rain to make the land abundant and fruitful. Much of the country side is filled with farms and groves which produce most of the North and East’s food supplies.
People from all different walks of life may choose Eastern Niendra as a home simply for its atmosphere and mild temperatures. While a good majority prefer the smaller towns and the rural areas, one must not discount the city. Niendra's markets draw in many the travellers, their inns are known for being top-knotch, however larger cities are tightly controlled by religion and order, and crime rate is at an all time low.
Up in the vast mountains of Eastern Niendra, Mystril Mage Academy resides, hidden away from public eye. The mountains serve as a strong defense system, however residents must be prepared for less favorable temperatures and the frequent storms.
Part of Wyeshing lies in the East. This is where most of Wyeshing’s wealthier population resides due to the fact the majority of it is covered by desert. Blessed with the rich waters that also spring into Niendra, the Eastern part of Wyeshing's agriculture primarily comes from water-based flora.
Some of the most beautiful, exotic flowers bloom near the riverbeds of Eastern Wyeshing, including the rare Ienjing Flower which has extensive healing properties and can be used in a variety of magics and potions. It is tradition for a young man to give his future bride an Ienjing as a symbol of his love and devotion to her.
THE WEST
Element: Electricity
In direct contrast to Niendra, Carthonia lies in the West. Separating the nations is a vast desert that makes travelling between the two countries difficult by foot. The desert is home to a few tribes that have migrated from the South. However, the deserts are said to be haunted with spirits of those who perished in the Great War. Many a skeleton has been uncovered by unsuspecting travellers, and anyone attempting to cross the desert has been warned against disturbing the graves of those deceased.
If one makes it across the perilous stretch of land, they will find themselves in the vast plains of Carthonia. Not quite as rich in as Niendra and with considerably less foliage, Carthonia is the land of storms. Many a sunny day has turned black with thick clouds and claps of thunder. The nearly daily rainfall is what keeps Western Carthonia prosperous agriculturally.
However, the vast majority of their wealth comes from their ingenius machinery. Able to construct and build weapons most Niendran's will never see in their lifetimes, the Carthonian population has set up several factory cities in order to produce advanced weapons and technology.
Part of Wyeshing resides in the West, covered by desert. However, unlike in Carthonia, Wyeshing's desert is the host for many an illegal activity. The Black Market thrives in the smaller cities: slave trade, stolen weapons, trading secrets... only the strong dare venture here willingly.
Outside of the cities, several tribal clans set up temporary camp in their never-ending circling of the Wyeshing desert. It is not uncommon to come across a deserted campsite, for tribal raids are incredibly common in the Wyeshing Desert.
THE SOUTH
Element: Fire & Wind
Sourthern Carthonia is a wasteland: a desert. However, the residents do not see it that way. Because of it harsh climate: hot temperature and unpredictable wild winds, many do not venture into it.
The natives know how to work the land, and most of them would prefer to not be bothered by outsiders. They seem to operate on their own rules, sometimes varying considerably from Western Carthonia's morals. While Carthonia is a neutrally religious city, several temples dedicated to the deity Nero can be found in the more stable cities, for it is said that he originated from the the Southern Desert.
The South is known for creating the most beatiful cloth. Not only is the material pleasing to the eye, it is also the most resistant; quite ideal for a people who spend the majority of their lives in harsh climates.
The secret headquarters of the resistance faction can be found in Southern Carthonia as well.
SERENITY ISLES
ELEMENT: ALL
Out of the way of all distraction lies Serenity Isles, a place that is said to be Holy Ground. Formally part of Wyeshing, certain unexplainably and eerie incidents left the island uninhabited for years save for a few villagers that claimed to see the presence of spirits.
Over time, it came to be understood that Serenity Isles is the home of the Gods. A tall, five story temple stands proud in the center of all other structures. This large structure is said to house the deities of Mind and Body, who together create Soul.
For each deity that is believed to exist, a temple has been constructed to surround the main. Now the island is a residence to priests and priestesses alike who wish to protect the sanctity of the island and the land. All of those who work in the temples are blessed in some way, shape, or form, and many have great power in order to defend against any attack.
Travellers may brave the atrocious storms at sea and cross the vast deserts in order to gain entry in hopes they will be blessed by their favoured deity. However, it takes a brave person to do so- for it is said anyone not worthy of the deities' blessings will perish before their prayer been spoken.
