M A G I C ? Illusion: Sylph's power of illusion is strong. He can create a solid, tangible illusion, however his illusions of animals and persons are not controllable and are capable of acting of their own free will. Ever since one of his illusions tried to kill him, he's been too afraid to use it and thus simply keeps a cover on his scars.
Mediumship: If he could only have better control of his illusions, he could make a puppet for spirits to possess. That said, he is able to call forth spirits to communicate with them. However the drawbacks include being unable to control strong spirits and occassionally being unable to send a spirit back to the astral plane.
Astral Trapping: This ability comes in handy when paired with his mediumship. He can single out a spirit and trap it in place until he can call it forth. Working in unison is very difficult, but he can manage. He is also able to trap those who have astral projection, though he's found it's harder to trap a fast-moving target.

B U I L D For still being a teenage boy, Sylph has quite the body due to years of training with his magic and staying in shape by playing "games." He is toned and fairly muscular.
E Y E S Sylph's eyes are his most striking feature. He seems like he's staring straight through you. His eyes are a light grey, and from a distance it can appear he has no iris at all.
H A I R His hair is a curly golden brown. He rarely bothers to do anything to it, as combing it makes him puff up like a poodle, which is the last thing he wants or needs.
I D E N T I F I E R S His back and sides are horribly scarred from a freak accident when he was younger than stripped the skin clear off his back. Granted, he's always thought it was his fault that it's happened, but it's the reason that he doesn't like to take his shirt off in public desipite his well-toned body.
A P P E A R A N C E Sylph always looks young. He has a baby face with large, innocent eyes. However, his body is strong, sturdy, and that of a man's. He always has a reserved look about him- he tends to slouch and cross his arms-- standing straight adds to his full height, so he sometimes looks shorter than he really is. He may always seem upset about something, but there is a certain softness about him that seems to make people be able to open up to him moreso than he would ever to them.
L I K E S Sylph enjoys playing the piano and writing music, though his family often tried to emphasize practicing magic and swordsmanship over playing instruments. That is not to say he doesn't enjoy it. In fact, on nice days he can often be seen playing a sport with other local teenagers or having a practice duel with an acquaintance. Oh, and a nice, hot pot of tea. He loves tea.
D I S L I K E S Dancing- Ballroom dancing that is. He may be light on his feet when fighting, but that does not translate into grace where his uneasiness with closeness and social situations kicks into play. He doesn't like people getting close to him and caring about them, so he tries to keep everyone he meets at arm's length.
F E A R S Fire. It was a magic-fire that burned down his home, killed his parents, and left him with the scars marring his body. Oh, and he fears his power of illusions due to a mishap when he was still a young boy trying to learn how to use it.
S T R E N G T H S Despite everything, Sylph is a very strong boy. Not just physically, but mentally. When he sets his mind to something, he continues to try until he succeeds. He's also quite the good musician and often composes by candlelight (odd, considering his fear of fire). He can also avoid a subject he doesn't want to talk about and it good at diverting attention elsewhere.
W E A K N E S S E S Sylph loves art- he has been known to spend quite a fortune on an expensive portrait or original song writings of those he admires. If he was to buy one of your works, it is almost guaranteed that others would follow (thus, leaving you to become popular and gain that fortune). He also tends to gravitate towards those who act as mother-figures. His right side is weak from his burns, so a good hit to it would mean his fall in battle, unfortunatley.
Q U I R K S He tends to never give a straight answer- it seems like his whole world is built on lies.
G O A L S Sylph wishes to find the people who murdered his family and have revenge. Then, he can die happily.
P E R S O N A L I T Y Sylph is a very secretive person. He doesn't share facts about his past or try to relate to others. In fact, he's all but isolated himself away from the world. Due to this, many strangers have made rumors about him but it's only escalated into hero-worship. There are stories about him beating up common thieves, saving the innocent citizens from power-hungry guards, giving out money to beggers-- these are lies, but it's what the public believes.
It's not that Sylph is a bad person, and maybe once he bought a little begger boy something to eat or he threatened a guard for beating a woman, but it's not like it's an everyday occurance. In fact, for the most part he prefers to be cooped up. Even his friends in the city know very little about him despite the fact they see him nearly every day.
Internally, he is damaged. His family's death has struck him deeply and often consumes his thoughts. Rooms in his manor have had to be repaired multiple times due to his fits of rage where he'll throw a chair or table into a wall, punch a mirror, and other such things. His staff is loyal and has stayed with him- but that is because he only hires the best... and generally like-minded people also set on revenge of some sort.

H I S T O R Y Sylph was the youngest child born to the archduke and duchess of Carthonia. He was a happy, young boy in his childhood. He loved playing outdoors, he loved his studies, and he loved his parents. Being the boy- the heir- he was spoiled with every luxury, no expense was spared.
Everything seemed to be going great. That is, until IT happened. In retaliation to the burning and destruction of the D'Amore family, Niendra retaliated by sending their own assassin. His family had been blamed for their downfall (and he still doesn't know if it's true).
He lost his father, mother, and sister, true to the D'Amore tragedy where only one of the boys lived. The event changed Sylph- he had been badly burned in the incident and almost didn't live. Once he realized his family was gone, he withdrew into himself. That happy, bright boy that could light up a room was cold and distant.
Some of the household workers stayed with him and raised him, as he had no family members to take him in (nor did he want to leave his renovated home.) Sylph blamed Carthonia as much as he does Niendra for the incident, however, and he'd love to see both pay for the crimes they've committed.
As he's gotten older, he's grown into a handsome young man with a drive. He is studying, learning, being tactical and practical. He doesn't want to make a fatal mistake. He just wants justice, and he's not afraid of dying for it.
