rule by fear is his motto. the chancellor of wyeshing is ruthless and cunning. he overthrew the previous ruler after challenging him to a magic duel, and has been ruling wyeshing for seventeen years. soon after his rise to power, he married his wife while his mistress gave birth to a son whom he disowned. currently he has three children he recognizes, but none whom he would entrust a seat of power with.

every bit as cunning and power-hungry as her husband, the wife of the chancellor is not a woman to be reckoned with. known to order the punishment against any woman her husband looks at, she is considered more of a tyrant than he by most of wyeshing. though she often gets angry with her husband for his adultry, she's just as bad, often bringing male suitors to her quarters in the middle of the night. everyone knows better to say anything, even her own children.

for the most part, the eldest shiang daughter has been left to do as she pleases. growing up, she's had servants at her beck and call, leaving her a bit spoiled and conceited. anyone close to the family can attest to her extreme possessiveness of her younger brother. many blame her mother for this trait, as it seems she's inherited it. if he was to rise to power, there's no doubt she'd be behind him pulling the strings.

no one knows who he is or where he comes from, but the fuyumii son is the newest recruit. he rarely speaks, and when he does it's normally to tell others to shut up. he often appears tired for his power drains his energy very quickly. he has been trapped in this time for awhile now, though in reality he is from the past, something he cannot let anyone know- no matter what.
